DCs

Event ID 2042: It Has Been Too Long Since this machine replicated

recently
on a client with this problem I found were 3 DC'sy two of them were giving enough problems when replicating.

Well apparently this happens because for some reason either communication or other have not replicated in more than 60 days for Windows 2000 or Windows versions 2003 or 180 days for Windows 2003 SP1 or higher or Windows 2008, so we have rather old objects that want to replicate and security is not allowed this replica.

Well the first thing is to see who on the DC that is failing to do so: CMD

REPADMIN / showrepl

Here we get the blame and we have two options to UN as if it were the last domain controller and then make cleaned up in AD from the remains of this or delete these files before restoring obsolete replica of DC's.

To remove obsolete files: CMD

REPADMIN / REMOVELINGERINGOBJECTS

Once you finish removing these items, we must restore replication of the DC's, for this we go to the affected server: CMD

REGEDIT

HKLM \\ System \\ CurrentControlSet \\ Services \\ NTDS \\ Parameters \\
Create a new DWORD value with the following label: Allow Replication With Divergent and Corrupt Partner 1 value

No need to restart, we go back through application Replmon (Graphic) or Active Directory sites and lazamos hand up replication and we have to replicate without problems Once replicated well, before we put the value 0
